ATMs are also plentiful, particularly in shopping areas, providing convenient access to cash for travellers. It’s advisable to carry multiple cards when traveling to Bali, as there have been incidents of ATM cards being retained by machines. This precaution ensures you have alternative payment options available, allowing you to easily block or replace a card if necessary.

Bali can be visited all year round; the best time, however, is between April and October, in the dry season. This period offers sunny days, lower humidity levels, and less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities, sightseeing, and beach visits. Bear in mind that Bali’s peak tourist season coincides with July and August, so expect more crowds and higher prices during these months. Bali’s rainy season is usually from November to March. The wettest months are January and February.

Given global changes in weather patterns, please keep in mind that weather conditions are subject to variability.

The cheapest time for South Africans to travel to Bali is typically during the low season, which falls outside the peak holiday periods. This usually includes the months of February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. During these months, you can often find lower prices on flights and accommodations compared to the peak tourist season which generally coincides with school holidays and major international holidays. It’s advisable to book well in advance and to compare prices across different airlines.
