Hotel Overview

This pristine island, characterised by a distinctive long sandbank, verdant foliage and powdery white beaches, is relatively small and intimate being only 600 metres long and 150 metres wide, and is a seamless 20 minute seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport. After a massive 18 month refurbishment programme Veligandu Maldives Resort Island will re-open in November 2024 as a 5 star premium resort, joining the Crown & Champa Luxury Collection.

25 Sunset Ocean Pool Villas (Size: 152m2)
Unparalleled luxury perched on stilts over the water on the north east corner of the island, a perfect vantage point for panoramic sunset views. The master bedroom is complemented by a private bathroom with bathtub and shower, a spacious deck with a 6.5×3 metre infinity pool and a broad staircase giving direct access to the house reef. Just one of the highlights is a rectangular glass floor hinting at the underwater wonders awaiting just beneath your feet.
Two-bedroom villas comprising 2 master bedrooms linked by a lavish living area offering a total space of 319m2 are available in this villa category.
 
22 Ocean Pool Villas (Size: 125m2)
Perched over water on stilts on the northern end of the island, these villas offer a sunrise view and chic design elements seamlessly blending with luxurious touches. Each villa has a rectangular glass floor and a large deck with a 5.8x3m plunge pool.
Two-bedroom villas comprising 2 master bedrooms linked by a spacious and inviting living area and offering a total space of 270m2 are available in this villa category.
 
18 Sunset Ocean Villas (Size: 102m2)
Apart from glorious sunset views guests can indulge in the allure of the open-air bathroom complete with sun loungers, a rain shower and a bathtub. The bathroom connects to the extended deck featuring a hammock and a lounging area.
 
10 Ocean Jacuzzi Villas (Size: 86m2)
These villas are suspended over the lagoon on the eastern side of the island. Partially open-air bathrooms, a jacuzzi with breathtaking ocean views and direct access from your villa deck to the house reef provide a fabulous over water retreat.
 
6 Sunset Jacuzzi Beach Villas (Size: 86m2)
Tucked into lush greenery with beachfront access and direct sunset views these 6 unique villas are on your very own private beach and just steps from one of the island’s finest house reefs. The private jacuzzi deck with sun loungers leads off the open-air bathroom.
 
10 Jacuzzi Beach Villas (Size: 86m2)
These villas feature private entrances and lush tropical wild plant fences so your privacy is guaranteed. The garden beachfront deck is perfect for relaxing and the private jacuzzi deck with sun loungers leads off the open-air bathroom. The turquoise water is just steps away.
 
9 Beach Villas (Size: 71m2)
The Beach Villas are positioned on the eastern end of the island facing the sunrise and the northern end of the island where guests can bask in the sunset glow. Partially open-air bathrooms have their own private deck with sun loungers creating an intimate sanctuary surrounded by waving palm fronds. These villas are just steps away from the beach.

The resort operates on a Bed and Breakfast basis with the option to upgrade to Half Board, Full Board and All Inclusive Dine Around. Additionally there are optional beverage plans for Half Board and Full Board guests.

Half Board includes breakfast and dinner in the Dhonveli Restaurant with complimentary Veligandu bottled water.

Full Board includes breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Dhonveli Restaurant with complimentary Veligandu bottled water.

All Inclusive Dine Around includes:

Beverage Plan

The Beverage Plan is applicable in all bars and restaurants except during special events, such as wine or cocktail pairing dinners, weddings, destination dining, beach barbecues, in room dining, or any other experiences.

The Beverage Plan includes an unlimited selection of cocktails, mocktails, beer, sparkling wine and white, red and rose wine, gin, vodka, whiskey and rum, soft drinks, fresh juices, milkshakes and smoothies, Veligandu still and sparkling water and a selection of teas and coffees.

Dhonveli Restaurant
Dhonveli is a buffet and live cooking restaurant offering a fusion of Asian and international cuisines. The outdoor deck is the perfect setting for breakfast and every evening is a new adventure with themed menus.
Open for Breakfast (07h30 – 10h30), Lunch (13h00 – 14h30) and Dinner (19h00- 21h30).
 
Madivaru
Madivaru directly faces the sunset and showcases Veligandu’s signature exotic flavours which highlight Mediterranean and Asian, cuisines including Chinese, Thai and Indian. 
Open daily from 10h00 and for Dinner from 19h00 to 22h00.
 
Madivaru Teppanyaki Grill
The Grill is stationed inside the Madivaru Restaurant. Highly skilled chefs perform theatrical knifework and entertaining tricks whilst preparing a traditional Teppanyaki meal –  a captivating gastronomic evening.

Raalhu
This elegant venue in the northernmost corner of the island boasts an extravagant champagne pavilion, a fine dining restaurant with a menu focussed on local lobsters and seafood and a sophisticated fully stocked bar.

Thundi Bar
An all-in-one chillout haven on the famous Veligandu sandbank, interconnected with the infinity pool and offering a 360 degree ocean view.  World class beverages, snacks, light bites, salads and tapas-style bites are all on offer. Beach parties, live music and traditional shows all happen here.
Open from 08h00 until the last guest leaves the Bar.

The Himeyn Spa offers a tranquil overwater sanctuary. Here guests can embark on a journey of rejuvenation with expert therapists and natural products. Body and facial therapies are designed to restore and awaken your body, mind and soul.
